The Johnny Stachela Band is one of the finest blues-rock power trios performing today.
Johnny Stachela Band: Los Angeles-native Johnny Stachela may be a Southern Californian, but he is one tempered by the Allman Brothers Band and baptized in Southern-fried Dixie. Influenced by the music of the late '60s and early '70s, Stachela presents himself as his own artist on the present EP Walk Through Fire. Stachela updates the Southern Stomp of the '70s with a practiced precision that incorporates all of the evolution in rock music since that time. Where The Black Crowes reminded us of how good the Rolling Stones were, Stachela assimilates the whole of the southern rock experience into a form that transcends what came before without forgetting it. - C. Michael Bailey, All About Jazz
BLACK WAAT3R: BLACK WAAT3R is an explosive blend of rock, soul and garage funk. BLACK WAAT3R creates a sonic sound that is both absolute and individual. Their songwriting delivers a wide range; from folk style storytelling to sexy themes with social undertones with their signature boom heavy drum and bass production. The members of BLACK WAAT3R are heavily decorated talents in their own right. Guitarist Erick Walls delivers a melodic, southern style, reminiscent of Muddy Waters. Walls, a highly in demand studio and live musician has worked with Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Kanye West. Walls recently scored his third Grammy nomination for his work on the ALOE BLACC album. Vocalist, Stevie Notes channels Sam Cooke with his electric powerhouse vocals. Notes is also an amazing writer and vocal arranger, recently having worked with Goo Goo Dolls, Glen Campbell, Josh Groban, and CheapTrick. “One of the most talented bands today” - producer Neal Pogue. Stevie Notes says, “Theres no genre that can hold us, we make music, all music.”
