Harvelles Presents:

CAPTAIN DANGER: Here to save the day! Catchy, quirky pop with a funky soul - the band has developed a unique but “immediately likable” catalog of classics. Said CMJ: "[Captain Danger does] the perfect pop formula so well it doesn't feel formulaic at all." Led by songwriter/guitarist Aaron Steinberg, the 3-piece band Captain Danger features percolating bass from Keith Eaddy (Macy Gray, Dam-Funk, Jody Watley) and killer beats from drummer Roger “Joose” Benford (Shafiq Husayn, Robert DeLeo, Patrick Paige). Performance highlights include South by Southwest, SiriusXM and appearing live on Showtime's "The Green Room with Paul Provenza." Additionally, an obvious sense of humor has proven a boon, as Captain Danger has provided theme music for both Bill Nye The Science Guy and Howard Stern. Music placements include Billabong, AMC, VH-1, NHL, WE, Disney and more. Currently the band is hard at work on a new album, inspired by influences including The Meters, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, King Crimson, Prince, Sly Stone and Tom Lehrer. Additionally, recent production collaborations include internet sensation Flula Borg (genius/oddball German rapper/DJ/actor) and Olivia Olson (Adventure Time’s “Marceline The Vampire Queen”). Captain Danger makes the road less traveled feel like a great place to be – with an affinity for the underdog, the band is always ready with an unstoppable melody and a funky good time.

Rudy Love Jr.: A singer/songwriter/keyboardist with deep musical DNA, Rudy Love Jr displays a distinctive musical voice, giving his all with every performance. As examined in the acclaimed documentary "This Is Love' (about the adventures of his musical family, Rudy Love & The Love Family, known among other things for cult-classic 1970s soul tracks - also later sampled by the likes of Jay Z and Prodigy), Rudy Love Jr has a unique view on musical expression and on the world around us. Originally hailing from Kansas (a "Wichita musician to know" says The Wichita Eagle) Rudy has since made Los Angeles his home, collaborating with producers such as Chris Henderson and Patrick Collier and relentlessly performing all around the Los Angeles area. Seamlessly combining R&B, soul, funk, rock and pop, Rudy's approach by design seems meant to entertain while incorporating some welcome surprises. His upcoming single "Two Sides" is an exploration into the well of contradictions within all of us, set against an irresistible backdrop of soulful pop-funk. Meanwhile, Rudy's adapted material includes reimagining songs by Prince or Billy Preston or rock bands like MGMT as being wide-open territory for segues into some other shared musical landscape. In a recent interview with VoyageLA, Rudy summed up his perspective on life as a musician, noting how he is often reminded "how fortunate I am just to be doing what I love to do. Not everybody has that. Some folks make millions and they still don’t feel a sense of purpose."
