1pm: DESI RAMONE
1:00 pm: Desi Ramone
Born just north of Modesto CA, Desi Ramone grew up listening to Honky Tonk on forgotten jukeboxes, Mexican Folk and classic 50’s on AM Radio, followed later by English New Wave and LA Punk on late night Berkeley college radio. As a drummer, Desi Ramone worked in various surf and Rockabilly bands around the LA area before taking up acoustic guitar and a playing in a variety of Bluegrass and country bands. “ I’m a long gone daddy in a Lux Interior kinda way” - Desi Ramone
2:00 pm: DOUBLE NAUGHT SPY CAR
L.A. Weekly Music Awards Best Instrumental Band of 2002, burst from Tinseltown's contorted psyche to provide underscore for America's descent into an opiated social contract and overt corporate tyranny. In sweat drenched shows harkening back to 1950s jazz clubs, the grinding Telecaster and spasmodic steel of Paul Lacques, the gurgling Stratocaster of Marcus Watkins, the revisionist/reductionist bass of Marc Doten, and the all knowing unyielding drums of Joe Berardi beguile, bewilder, bait, and beatify their audience --and all with no pesky vocals or lyrics to water down the twang and throb.
3:00 pm: LAWNDALE
During their brief but prolific run in the mid 1980s, the all-instrumental LAWNDALE was a fixture on L.A.'s second wave punk scene. Playing a unique form of what has been described (possibly by a psychotic) as 'Surf-infused Psychedelic Melodic Acid-Prog', the band was fittingly dubbed "the Instrumental Gurus of the Church of the Electric Guitar" by the LA Weekly."...if you have any fondness for early '60s instrumentals ... and care to see it done superbly plus a demented tinge of Pink Floyd influence, this is the band" - Stone Age News
(Jack Skelley, Joe Baiza, Dave Childs, Philo Van Duyne)
4:00 pm: DRYHEAT
Art in performance and pure desert love. This musically exciting project features Sean Wheeler’s visceral writing and delivery with Otis Links beautiful visual terra-plane. Mario Lalli, HERBERT, Dino Von Lalli Dave Travis and Tony Tornay provide the soundtrack.
5:00 pm: SANTA SABBATH
Spreading Christmas and Holiday cheer to good and bad boys and girls all over the world! (Early) Sabbath covers…with Kris Kringle on vocals, replacing Ozzy's occult meanderings with his own Christmassy visions of a Yuletide apocalypse. Must be seen (and heard). Bob Lee, Pat Hoed, Jonathan Hall, John Collinson. "Hilarious!...3 guitars and a massive sound" - StonerRock.com
